BYK-377

BYK 377 is a highly effective silicone additive that significantly reduces surface tension and improves substrate wetting. BYK 377 allows formulation of highly transparent coatings without turbidity due to its high level of compatibility. BYK 377 accumulates on the surface due to its high surface activity and gets incorporated into the polymer network to get anchored in the coating surface. This improves surface properties like slip, wetting and release even at low dosage levels. Only half of the standard dosage of conventional silicones is sufficient when using BYK 377. The strong surface tension reduction property of BYK 377 makes it especially suitable for applications that require wetting of critical substrates.
