BYK-019

BYK 019 is a silicone-containing defoamer that prevents foam during grinding of aqueous pigment concentrates. BYK 019 provides long-term and shear stability, making it particularly suitable for resin-free grinds (slurries) used in advanced material formulations. As a polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane solution, BYK 019 efficiently reduces microfoam when combined with BYK 024 in a 3:2 ratio. This allows for improved dispersion quality and rheological properties critical for advanced material coatings, composites and other applications. BYK 019 supports homogeneous, defect-free incorporation into aqueous coating systems like polyurethane dispersions and polyurethane/acrylate combinations commonly used in advanced material industries.
