BYK-C 8003

BYK C 8003 is a reactive polymeric coupling agent that improves the mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced unsaturated vinylester and polyester resin systems. BYK C 8003 enhances fiber-matrix bonding which results in increased strength, impact resistance and durability of the final composite material. As a surface-active additive, it promotes adhesion between the reinforcing glass fibers and the polymer matrix. This leads to composites with higher tensile, flexural and compressive properties. BYK C 8003 allows formulators to reduce material costs by substituting a portion of more expensive resins with glass fiber, while maintaining or improving performance of the finished product. At use levels between 1-3%, it efficiently improves key mechanical properties of glass-fiber reinforced composites for demanding applications.
